In grade school, instead of a lemonade stand, Sameer set up a tiny business selling home-made FM transmitters to classmates. That set the stage for the rest of his career, spanning 15 years of tech and marketing. A veteran of startup success at Kobo Inc. (acquired by Japanese giant, Rakuten), Sameer has a proven track record in leadership positions building and selling products that people love.
Sergey comes from a finance technology background, and has worked in the start up scene as well as enterprise environments at such companies as BMO Financial Group and Merrill Lynch. Also a graduate of the Kobo startup story (now Rakuten Kobo) he is no stranger to building devices with awesome ecosystems around them, which is his main focus at Shonin. In addition to that, Sergey leads Shonin’s financial administration.
In University, Robert found himself a top 10 finalist demo-ing his idea, in person, to Ycombinator, and learning (the hard way) what it takes to ship great software. Since then Robert has become a formidable full-stack developer with an entrepreneurial streak, rising to the position of lead developer at Kobo Inc. Having earned his startup stripes (twice!), Robert is now in charge of Mobile app development at Shonin.
When he’s not building and racing motorcycles, Ernesto can be found deep in his workshop building the next big thing in technology. An accomplished Industrial designer, brand expert and “maker” extraordinaire, Ernesto has built Red-Dot Design Award-winning products and is now contributing his talents to Shonin.
Angelo gave himself a head start while still in University, offering consulting services to major industrial players such as Magna International. Ever since, he has built his consulting practice up, accumulating nine US and international patents, providing engineering expertise for many companies with employees ranging from 3 to 3000 (Agfa Graphics and others) all over the world. He is now contributing his talents to Shonin as Lead Engineer.
